Elchem — Android privacy and subscription policy

Updated 1 October 2026

Who is responsible

Elchem is developed by James Cullimore. For privacy questions, support, or a request concerning your information, contact info@jamescullimore.dev. This policy describes the mobile game, not external websites you choose to open.

Location and internet access

Elchem uses your permitted device location to place you on the map, find nearby game locations, check travel distance and apply terrain and weather conditions. Precise location improves these features. You can change or remove location permission in your device settings. The game explains access again when permission is missing. Internet access is used for map data, environmental queries and store services; it is not a separate operating-system permission prompt.

Maps and environmental services

Mapbox receives map and terrain requests, including coordinates, your IP address and technical request information. Weather queries use an approximate coordinate grid with steps of 0.05 degrees and are sent to Open-Meteo or the configured weather service. Mapbox may process SDK usage and diagnostic information under its privacy policy. Map attribution and provider information are available in the game.

Android diagnostics and advertising

The Android app includes Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config for app usage, crash diagnostics and configuration. Google services can receive app/device identifiers, technical diagnostics and interactions. Google Mobile Ads serves banners and optional rewarded ads to non-subscribers and can process advertising identifiers, IP address, device information and ad interactions, subject to consent and device settings. Active subscribers are not shown advertisements. Subscription ad removal does not disable essential purchase verification or map requests.

Saved games

Your company, inventory, recruits, stronghold, settings, visited locations, local notes and reward-claim history are stored on your device. This release does not provide an Elchem login or account-based cross-device cloud save. Reinstalling, clearing app data or changing devices can remove local progress. Device backup behaviour depends on your platform and settings. Restoring a subscription does not restore company inventory or previously spent consumables.

Purchases and subscriptions

The platform store processes payments. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription records, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, a generated app-user identifier, and device/app information needed to validate access and support purchases. Elchem does not receive your full payment-card details. We use these records to deliver purchases, prevent duplicate rewards, verify benefits and handle support. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal; existing paid access normally continues until its verified expiry unless refunded or revoked.

Free and subscriber rewards

Free players can claim one useful item each day. Claiming on five different days in a UTC calendar week earns a weekly bonus; 21 days in a UTC calendar month earns a monthly equipment bonus. Subscribers retain free rewards and can claim a separate, slightly better daily bonus. Their fifth weekly and twenty-first monthly subscriber claims include additional bonuses automatically. Missing a day does not reset the seven-step daily reward track. Unclaimed daily rewards do not accumulate. Progress and delivered rewards belong to each saved company for this release, not an account-wide cross-device ledger.

Subscriber access

An active, verified subscription removes advertisements. Subscription status may need an internet refresh; unavailable verification does not extend the last verified expiry. PvP is planned for paying users after it is released and is not available in this release. No subscription currently provides playable PvP. The purchase screen displays the store price and billing period. Manage renewal and cancellation through your platform store. Refund requests follow the platform store process and applicable consumer rights.

Purposes and choices

We process information to operate the location-based game, provide purchases and requested support, and maintain reliability and security. Where applicable, these purposes rely on providing the requested service, legitimate interests in maintaining it, or consent for optional processing. Device permissions and any applicable advertising-consent choices can be changed through the device or consent controls. Removing location access limits location-dependent gameplay.

Retention and deletion

Local game information remains until it is removed by the game, app-data clearing, uninstallation or device storage management. Purchase, fraud-prevention and support records may be retained as needed for the service and legal obligations; store and service-provider records follow their own retention policies. Contact info@jamescullimore.dev to request access, correction or deletion of information held by the developer, identifying the app and relevant transaction or app-user identifier where available. Do not send payment-card details. Deleting game data does not cancel a subscription.

Service providers and international processing

Information is shared with the providers described here to operate their services. They may process it outside your country. Their privacy notices describe their processing, retention and applicable transfer safeguards. External links, email and community services operate under their own policies. Information you choose to send in a support message is used to respond to that request.

Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also contact your local data-protection authority. Send requests to info@jamescullimore.dev. We may need proportionate information to verify the request.

Children and updates

Elchem is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact info@jamescullimore.dev. The applicable store age rating is shown in the store listing. This policy will be updated if the game or its data practices change. The date below identifies this version.
